Coach Tyler Mayer

Head Coach-2013 Boys-Lake Country United FC (June 2022–Present)

Coach Tyler Mayer brings a wealth of high-level playing and coaching experience to Lake Country United FC, with a career rooted in excellence at every level of the game - from youth and collegiate soccer to the professional ranks.

A standout at Syracuse University (1994–1998), Tyler served as team captain and earned Defensive MVP honors in 1998. He was a four-time All-Academic Big East selection and overcame a 1997 injury season as a medical redshirt. He went on to complete his graduate studies at East Stroudsburg University, where he helped lead the team to a PSAC Championship and NCAA Division II Tournament berth, earning Regional All-American honors along the way.

Tyler was drafted into the A-League (now USL Championship) by the Lehigh Valley Steam in 1998 and later played for the Reading Rage from 1999 to 2001.

His youth career was equally decorated, including time with FC Delco, the Region I ODP National Pool, and international experience with EPYSA’s European Select Team in Warsaw, Poland.

He was a dominant force in high school soccer at Fleetwood High School in Pennsylvania, earning High School All-American honors, All-State selections, and leading Berks County in scoring with 38 goals in 1992–1993. He was inducted into the Fleetwood HS Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Coach Mayer holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Sport Management from East Stroudsburg and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Syracuse. At Lake Country United FC, he leverages his broad playing background and academic training to mentor and develop players in a competitive, character-driven environment.
